Asiaphil Manufacturing Industries, Inc.

The Asiaphil Group of Companies (AGC) traces its beginnings to 1973, when Guillermo T. Batungbacal founded the manufacturing firm that was to become the first of several companies under the Asiaphil name. Having acquired extensive experience in the electrical industry, first as an employee of a multinational corporation and eventually as an independent entrepreneur, Mr. Batungbacal established Asiaphil Manufacturing Industries, Inc. (AMII). It was one of the first Filipino-owned firms to specialize in the manufacture and assembly of panel boards, electrical distribution equipment, and substations. For Mr. Batungbacal, at a time when foreign companies dominated the field, Asiaphil reflected his cautious optimism; it was a Filipino company’s start towards becoming a more active participant in the supply of electrical apparatus to all users of electrical energy in the country. Asiaphil began to build a name for quality products backed by competitive prices, quick delivery, and prompt servicing and maintenance.
